For twenty years, Van and Jeri Hart have welcomed guests from around the world to the corner of San Francisco, a century-old house on tranquil tree-lined Woodland Avenue.

Orange Dog Manor is a four-unit building, and the Harts live on site. That’s not a footnote — it’s the difference between a managed property and a hosted one. Guests have real people to turn to, not a support inbox.

What makes Woodland Avenue unusual isn’t access; it’s atmosphere. The block-long street has a settled, neighborly quality that is rare in a city its size. From here, a village-like stretch of Cole Valley’s shops, cafes, and a MUNI light-rail stop are within easy reach without the noise of the train reaching your front door. UCSF Parnassus Campus is nearby, making ODM a natural fit for medical professionals on temporary assignment, families navigating an extended period of care. The property is a popular choice for grandparents who come to the city seasonally to lend a hand with family but want a space of their own to call home.

Stays at ODM begin at one month. For guests whose circumstances shift — a contract extension, a change in plans — Van and Jeri are open to conversation about extending a stay or exploring other arrangements.
